run as fast as you can

wild ponies are running free in lush green pasture. they enjoy their peaceful lives until those rowdy cowboys come out and round them up every fall. their foals are sold off and then they mares are turned back out to the pasture to continue their breeding. sometimes new mares or stallions are turned out with them but they have a hard time adapting to their new lives. as ealry spring is coming some mares are getting ready to foal. some of them have learned they lose their foals others a new to this experience. will they try and run and got off the island? or will they go the easy way, not wanting to risk their lives?

make your own sheet bro.

rules:
~ "ponies" must be under 15.0 hands.
~ only one stallion/mare each until the rp gets going
~ no language
~ have some fun smile

a bronzed hoof struck the the frosty soil with a crackle, it's force penetrating the ground in a pawing motion. the mare's tiny legs seemed fragile against the thin layer of frozen snow, however somehow the pony got through its blanket and successfully hit grass. little patches of green had began to sprout while the snow melted gradually, however it seemed there was not enough for Genevieve and her enormously bloated belly, and she continued digging. her lips grazed casually across the land, nipping and tearing away at any grass they happened to tickle upon. gen's winter coat was starting to shed away, however the pony still held that huge roundness on her sides. it was near that time of the cycle, but the mare had a feeling that at near any moment, those strange, two-legged creatures would round all them herds up, and take away their young ones. she was hoping she could hold herself until after then, but she had noticed she was getting more nervous, so that was unlikely... For now, Genevieve would have to push those thoughts out of her head, and focus on the now. Lifting her head, the mare's nostrils flared in the crispy air, eyes scanning in search of yet another, bearing mare.

as the stud galloped across the empty field of snow, his dark mane whipped behind him like a flag, his tail trailing at the tracks he left behind as his hooves thundered across the ground. at full speed, mason didn't notice the cold air prickling in his face and chest, just the rush of energy that was flowing through his legs as they carried him further and further through the pasture. the stallions mission was to get as deep into the land as possible. maybe, since he was a rogue, the rangers wouldn't bother capturing him. he could do little to help them, and capturing was just a mess. the stallion found himself deranged, lost and confused about his were abouts. it took weeks for him to realize which direction he was going, seeming the acres could go on and on. he'd only found the fences once, and they stung like a thousand bee's if encountered with. he learned that day about his fate, and was now off for more adventures. limited ones, but good enough to keep him going. mason's last herd was boring, all those groups of horses did was sluggishly travel all day and eat, drink and sleep. what a life. what happened to all the adventure? instead, the horse throw his head and kicked into gear once more, flying across the meadow like lightening. he would have fun on his own, he wasn't bothered by that.

Morgan pawed at the nearly thawed ground snorting in frustration and wishing spring would come already. Grass was beginning to get greener and lusher across the meadow, but certain spots were still froze. She turned, having to make a full circle because of her enlarged belly. Her ears pricked at the sound of crunching leaves; she had strayed away from the herd so she could have her foal in peace but apparently she hadn't gone far enough. Her small, rounded eyes watched as another mare came into sight. She was obviously nearing her date also. Morgan walked up to her warily, the white mare was taller than her but not by much. She nickered a friendly greeting, shaking her head so her forelock was out of her eyes.

Sammy meanwhile was taking a long, frigid cold drink from a small pond he had found. The sun was out but as he snorted he could see the warmth of his breath in the crisp air. He lifted his head, shaking his body to get any frost that had formed off. His whinnied, long and loud, hoping to find another horse. He wanted his own herd, to lead them to safety, watch over every night; everything. He'd been kicked out of many, always trying to fight the lead stallions, so far he'd had no such luck. A branch snapped ahead of him and he lurched back, her ears pricked and eyes alert for danger. All he saw was a little brown squirrel, such nasty creatures if you got next to there homes in th trees. He snorted, shook his head, and trotted out into the sunlight in the new-coming green meadow.

the mare's eyes drooped with innocence, seeing the tenseness of the ponies muscles ahead of her. she was shorter by a few hands, however they did share the equally sized belly roundness. genevieve recognized this mare, having seen her here and there in their herd, however it was strange neither of them had spoken until this time. she seemed equally as bloated as herself, so gene assumed she was too nearing her time. "hello," the pony nickered, her breath evaporating into the air like mist, disappearing above her ears. "i see that you too are far into your pregnancy," genevieve giggled, attempting to look at her own abdomen. "i am expecting soon."

the stallion was in full gallop when he was brought up short. the pony came to a screeching halt, his hooves scrapping across the frozen soil loudly. ears perked, and nostrils flaring, mason's mane finally caught up with him, slamming into his neck and delicately rolling down its muscular arched-ness. a new scent tickled the hairs on his nose, and it was of yet...another horse. where? the studs eyes scanned the area sharply, however there was little to see. a small patch of deep forest ahead of him, the birds chirping behind him in the meadow. but, it must be close if the wind brought up the fresh smell.

Morgan watched as the heavy mare walked fairly closer and listened as she talked. She nodded thoughtfully. "I've finally reached my due date." The mare said, with a glint of both exhaustion and excitment in her eyes. She was a first time mother, she'd protect her foal even if it cost her own life. Her ears flicked at the distant sounds of a sharp whistle and she knew all too well what it was. Alarm and fear shot through her body and she squealed suddenly jumping sideways. "Hurry, they are coming." She whinnied to the new mare, before she spun and took off galloping. She had to reach the herd, otherwise they'd be taken as rogue horses and sold. She didn't want that.

Sammy couldn't see the other rogue stallion but in the distant he also heard the high pitched whistles of the cowboys and then a shrill whinny from a mare down below. He ran to the top of the hill his muscles working, his mane and tail flowing. Sweat drizzled down his forehead as he reached the top when he spotted not only the stallion but the two mares below him. He knew what was going to happen but he'd never been taken before. He always knew to stay out of there way, they only cared for the mares and their foals. He watched, his eyes wide, unsure of his next move.
